ARTIST BIO

As an artist, Erin Machado has had a journey of evolution and exploration, rooted in a deep appreciation for both her cultural heritage and the natural world that surrounds us. Over the past seven years, she has honed her craft primarily through commission work, but it's been in the last three years that she has truly delved into the realm of creating her own original pieces.

Erin’s artistic vision is deeply influenced by the ethereal beauty of human interaction with nature, particularly focusing on the experiences of women. Growing up with a Cuban background and steeped in Catholic symbolism, she finds herself drawn to incorporating these motifs into her work, weaving a tapestry that reflects the joys and struggles inherent in her cultural lineage.

Erin’s approach to art is expansive, mainly manifesting in large-scale paintings that capture the essence of seasons and the cyclical rhythms of nature. She finds inspiration in the ever-changing palette of the natural world, using seasonal color schemes as the foundation for her pieces, categorizing them not just by subject matter, but by the mood and atmosphere they evoke.

In June of 2021, Erin showcased her inaugural collection of over 40 original works in her first solo exhibition - a milestone that marked a significant step in her artistic journey. Since then, she continued to share her creations, exhibiting in various group shows, festivals, and local businesses throughout Atlanta, Georgia.

A background in architecture, cultivated through her studies at Kennesaw State University, has played a crucial role in shaping Erin’s artistic perspective. Drawing from knowledge of architectural and art history, as well as computational design tools, she aims to merge the realms of architecture and art, infusing her architectural work with the same natural elements and emotive qualities present in her paintings.

As she continues to grow both as an artist and as a professional in the field of architecture, Erin is thrilled to be immersed in the vibrant and burgeoning Atlanta art community. Her goal is to forge connections between her two passions, using each to inform and enrich the other, and to leave a lasting impact through her art, both on canvas and in the built environment.
